We're going to the zoo, how about you?

We ventured to the zoo recently to escape the cold and experience a bit of warmth. Although it was too cold to visit the outdoor exhibits, we had a fun time indoors seeing the birds, turtles, plants, monkeys and dolphins. Lilly enjoyed watching the ducks swim under water and the dophins play with their toys. We'll be back soon!

Sledding

Since Lilly had never been sledding before, we thought we'd give it a try on a small hill first; Our driveway! It had just enough slippery snow-pack, from not religiously shoveling, to make it fun. It also had the advantage of a short, easy climb back up to the top...Something we would soon struggle with.

Sledding Part II

So, after our driveway sledding went well, we took Lilly in the sled and walked across the street to the "big" hill just near our house. Again, Lilly had never been sledding, so we weren't sure how she'd react. Drew decided to take the plunge with her since I'm pregnant and wasn't sure I'd make it back up the hill ;) Turns out she had a great time, twice, until she got too cold and Drew decided going up the hill more than that wouldn't be so much fun. We'll have to do it again sometime on a warmer day and maybe a slightly smaller hill.

Potty Training-AHHHH!

So, we decided to take the plunge this week and get Lilly potty-trained! We've had our ups and downs, but I'd say we're in overall good shape. The first picture just makes me laugh; since we decided to put her in underwear right away (no pull-ups) I thought I would need something to catch any potential leaks while out in public, since she's still training. I bought these cotton-lined plastic pants that go over the underwear and you can see by Lilly's expression how she felt about them :) I've only tried them once in public and she didn't have an accident, so their effectivness remains to be seen- to be continued...
